Overview
The
FirstCyte® Breast Test, which encompasses ductal
lavage, is currently
used as a risk assessment tool for women who are at high
risk for breast cancer. Cells collected via the FirstCyte
Breast Test are used to detect atypical changes
in cells lining the milk ducts, where an estimated 95 percent
of all breast cancers originate.
By identifying high risk
women who have abnormal cells
in their milk ducts and who are apparently at highest risk
for developing breast cancer,
the FirstCyte Breast Test assists in decision making about
appropriate preventative measures.

exams, breast self-exams and other standard breast cancer
detection methods. |
